Singh's relative shot dead in Ludhiana
Ludhiana:
In a case of murder and dacoity, miscreants shot dead a
75 year old woman, Jaswant Kaur, a relative of former Punjab
Chief Minister, Beant Singh, at her residence in Jagjeet Nagar
in Ludhiana. Jaswant Kaur, was shot at around 11o'clock at night
on Wednesday. Police suspect the involvement of four people
in the crime. "According to investigations conducted last night
and today morning, four people have been suspected. Moreover,
the intention was clear that they had come to rob the house,"
said MS Tur, SP (Detective), Ludhiana. A relative of the deceased
said on receiving information about the incident, they reached
the spot and informed the police. "Her brother came and took
her to the hospital. He called me up and informed me that his
grandmother is dead. We came and informed the police about the
incident," said Dalbir Singh, a relative. Besides the dead,
two more people were injured. A young girl of around 25 years
and an old woman has been admitted to the DMC Hospital. Their
condition is reported to be serious. The dacoits took away cash
and jewellery. There is lot of tension in the locality, following
the incident and the police have been put on alert.
