Prime Minister undergoes surgery

New Delhi: Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh on Thursday underwent a minor surgical procedure on his right hand for carpel tunnel syndrome at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in New Delhi. The operation was performed to relieve pressure on a nerve on the wrist. However, Dr. Manmohan Singh returned to his residence after the surgery and resumed his official duties. While his right hand would remain bandaged for a few days, the Prime Minister would be working normally, said an official press release.
