Dacoit Nirbhay Gujjar injured in encounter

     Itawah (Uttar Pradesh): Uttar Pradesh Police on Friday engaged dreaded dacoit Nirbhay Gujjar in an encounter and injured him seriously in the state's Itawah District. District Police Chief Daljit Singh told media persons that the encounter had taken place on the banks of River Quari river in the wee hours when police, following a tip off intercepted the gang members. Two gang members were killed in the encounter, he added. A large quantity of arms and ammunition, including live cartridges, were recovered from the spot, Singh said. A majority of the gang managed to escape, taking advantage of the darkness. A massive combing operation has been launched in the area to nab them, he said.
