More American choppers for quake-hit Pakistan

Washington: A commander in charge of the United States Military Disaster Assistance Centre said today that Washington will be deploying more helicopters for relief assistance in quake-hit Pakistan. Michael Lefever told reporters here that American aircraft and troops will assist in relief efforts in Pakistan as long as Islamabad wanted. The U.S. has already deployed 13 helicopters, including eight Chinooks, three Blackhawks and two heavy-lifting MH-53s, to ferry rescue workers and supplies to the quake zone.
