Transfer Patna IG, DIG of CRPF: EC
New
Delhi: The Election Commission (EC) on Monday asked the
Ministry of Home Affairs to transfer the Inspector General
and Deputy Inspector General of Central Reserve Police Force
(CRPF), Patna for violating model code of conduct. According
to the EC sources, Arun Chibber (IG) and Alok Raj (DIG) had
met Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) chief Lalu Prasad Yadav on
Sunday night at his residence, which was a clear violation
of model code of conduct as the state assembly election is
scheduled to begin from October 18. The remaining three phases
of voting will take place on October 26, November 13 and November
19 respectively. Counting of votes in all the constituencies
will be taken up on November 22, and date before which election
process shall be completed will be November 23.
