minister killed in militant attack

Jammu and Kashmir Minister of State for Education Ghulam
Nabi Lone was killed on Tuesday morning when militants attacked
his residence in the high security Tulsibagh area of Srinagar.
According to a report, two militants entered his residence
at around 9 a.m. and opened fire and hurled a grenade killing
the minister on the spot. However, in a counter attack by
the security forces, one of the two militants was killed while
the other one remained hidden on the premises. One Central
Reserve Police Force (CRPF) solider was also killed in the
attack, while another jawan was seriously injured. Meanwhile,
the area, which is a high security zone as it resides several
Jammu and Kashmir ministers, was soon cordoned off and the
residents were taken to a nearby park.
