Musharraf
ready to open LoC for earthquake relief
Islamabad:
Pakistan President General Pervez Musharraf today said
that Pakistan was ready to open the Line of Control (LoC),
dividing Kashmir, thereby allowing Indian Kashmiris to come
and join aid efforts to Kashmiris living in Pakistan occupied
Kashmir (PoK) in the aftermath of the quake. "We will allow
any amount of people coming across the Line of Control to
meet their relatives and assist with the reconstruction effort,"
said Musharraf while on a visit to Muzaffarabad. Musharraf
also proposed that the political leaders of both sides should
interact to "assist each other with the reconstruction efforts."
He however, said that no formal proposal in this regard had
been made to New Delhi, reports The News.
