donates over $48,000 for earthquake relief in J-K
New
Delhi: China on Tuesday donated 48,109 dollars for quake
relief work in Jammu and Kashmir. A cheque of Rs.21,73,100
from the Red Cross Society of China for the Indian Red Cross
Society was presented today to the Minister for Health and
Family Welfare, Dr. Anbumani Ramadoss, by the Chinese Ambassador
in India Sun Yuxi, said an official release. Conveying the
Chinese Government's and peoples' sympathy for those affected
in the October-8 devastating earthquake in which over 50,000
people are feared to be dead in India and Pakistan, Yuxi discussed
with Dr. Ramadoss future co-operation between the Red Cross
Societies of the two countries. He also extended an invitation
to the Minister to visit China to strengthen collaboration
in health related areas.
