MIG 21 crashes at Bangalore airport, crew injured
Bangalore:
Bangalore Airport was closed on Wednesday for a couple
of hours after a MIG-21 jet crash landed nearby. The test
pilot and the test engineer of the Air Force Systems and Training
Establishment (ASTE), who were onboard, ejected safely but
suffered injuries. Both have been admitted to the Command
Hospital. The crash is said to have been caused by a technical
snag. The debris has since been cleared by the staff of the
Airports Authority. The fighter plane was on routine training
sortie when it experienced problems during the take-off.
