PM greet nation on Diwali eve and for Id

Delhi: President APJ Abdul Kalam and Prime Minister Manmohan
Singh have greeted the people on the eve of Diwali and for
Id-ul-Fitr, which falls next week. In a message to the nation,
Dr. Singh hoped that these festivals of joy and happiness
would bring everyone together irrespective of caste or religion.
He also hoped that the festival would further cement the bonds
between various communities and usher in peace, prosperity
and happiness for all. "This week is a special one, as Diwali
and Id-ul-Fitr are celebrated across the country with gaiety
and fervour. It is hoped that these festivals would further
cement bonds between various communities. May the festival
of lights this year usher in peace, prosperity and happiness
for all, the Prime Minister added.
