Your wedding at Princess Di's ancestral home (Go To Top)

London: Fans of the late Diana, Princess of Wales, who always dreamed of having a wedding just like hers, will soon be able to hold their own fairy tale nuptials at her ancestral home, for her brother is opening its doors to all who can afford it. Diana's brother, the current Earl Spencer, who turned down a request by Madonna to have her wedding to Guy Ritchie at the Althorp House estate in 2000, saying it was too complicated to arrange, seems to have had a change of heart, and has decided to open the estate to the public. According to the Daily Mail, anyone who can afford to spend 50,000 pounds on their wedding will now be able to tie the knot in the room where the Earl himself got married, and then spend the night in the bedroom where Diana once slept with Prince Charles. The Earl, who is already being criticised for cashing in on his sister's popularity, said that the new venture would the best combination of tradition and history. "(It will) offer the very best of British history and tradition, the finest cuisines and a very high level of discreet yet friendly service," the Daily Mail quoted him, as saying.

High heels may risk your fertility (Go To Top)

London: Think twice before walking down the street in towering footwear, as in an attempt to add a few inches to your height you may harm your chances of having a baby. An expert has claimed that in their attempt to look drop-dead gorgeous in their stiltoes, made rocking by celebrities, including Victoria Beckham and Scarlett Johansson, women actually risk their fertility, as these five-inch killer heels can affect their internal organs in a condition known as visceroptosis. "If people value their health in any way at all, avoid these killer heels at all costs - they're not worth the risk," The Mirror quoted Health and fitness chief Dax Moy, as saying. "Most important are the potential problems that high heels can cause in relation to fertility, menstrual cycles and abdominal function. When you wear high-heels, the pressure on the front of the foot causes you to compensate by excessive forward tilting of the pelvis.

If left unchecked, this can lead to menstrual dysfunction and increases in period pains as well as affecting the ability to conceive," he said. "Most women are intimately aware that the prolonged wearing of even moderate heels can cause foot, ankle and knee problems and lead to back pain. But it's not just about the feet, it affects every single function in every joint and muscle throughout the body and can seriously affect the health of women that insist upon wearing them," he added. Dax has also warned that the latest fashion shoes could even make the hair fall out. "The forward tilting of the pelvis allows the abdominal contents to spill forward, producing that 'pooch' which many women have wrongly come to think of a 'fat stomach'."In doing so, they compress internal organs in a condition known as visceroptosis," said Dax. "It doesn't stop there - neck, back, shoulder pain, stress headaches and even premature hair loss can all ensue as a result of ignoring the way your body is designed to work," he added. He went on "But it's not just about the feet, it affects every single function in every joint and muscle throughout the body and can seriously affect the health of women that insist upon wearing them."

Court orders boyfriend to give nicer presents (Go To Top)

London: It's Valentine's Day coming up. So, if you're thinking of buying some presents to woo your sweety-pie, then better ask her choice or do some research, as a court has recently passed an order that forced a boyfriend to put more effort into his choice of presents for his girlfriend. A 36-year-old woman prisoner, Sicuta Radulescu, has won a court case in Focsani, Romania, forcing her 30-year-old boyfriend Nicusor Constantin to bring her nicer presents, after she brought a civil suit against him claiming his behaviour was deliberate and was adversely affecting her psychological health. "His presents are a disappointment and make my time in jail even more unbearable. He brings useless things like photos of himself with our friends in pubs and clubs and cookery books that he knows I can't use," Fox News quoted Radulescu , as telling the court. "I feel like he is mocking me when he brings me these presents. I want nicer presents which will make my life in prison feel more bearable," she added. The judge ordered Constantin to agree on a list of presents with his girlfriend, which he would bring to Radulescu, who is serving a four year sentence for theft, when he visited her in jail.
