Islamabad:
Former Pakistan Army Chief, Mirza Aslam Beg has said
that the US had plans to hit Pakistan and Iran's nuclear
assets from an altitude as high as 40,000 feet. He further
said that the US spy aircrafts could detect nuclear installations
anywhere, whether they were on the ground or underneath
the earth. US spy planes flying at high altitude could not
be seen, and could locate nuclear assets of Iran and Pakistan,
and the two countries should keep this in mind, The Nation
quoted Beg as saying while talking to Radio Tehran. He further
said that the US and its western allies had understood that
the peaceful usage of atomic energy was the "recognised
right" of Iran on the basis of NPT, and that if the issue
was presented before the UN Security Council, then the US
would be defeated and Iran would be victorious. He, however,
said that the issue would not be presented before the UN
Security Council.
