   Washington: Can there be smoke without a fire? That is what is on all Britney-watchers minds these days, after she was snapped shopping in Malibu, sans her wedding band. Rumours have been rife that not all is well in the Britney-Kevin marriage stable, after the two have reportedly been involved in a series of rows over Kevin being unable to come to terms with his fatherhood, and preferring to party, rather than shoulder his paternity responsibilities. And though the couple have refused to admit publicly that their marriage is on the rocks, the latest incident is bound to fuel speculation that there may be more to their problems, than they are admitting to. "Britney didn't look very happy as she shopped for flowers and was chatting away on her phone," Contactmusic quoted an onlooker, as saying.

Maradona to act in biopic (Go To Top)

    Washington: Argentine soccer superstar, Diego Maradona, who is as well known for his "Hand of God" incident during the soccer World Cup, as for his subsequent life- threatening drug addiction, has reportedly agreed to act in a biopic that will show his darker side. The film titled "Maradona: Hand of God" is to be directed by Marco Risi, and will focus on his dark days when his cocaine addiction almost led him to self-destruct. The period in which it will be set is during the days he was playing for Italian team Napoli, and will also showcase his involvement with Naples mafia organization, the Camorra. "What interests me is to tell the story of the darker side of Maradona - his desire to self-destruct, the years in which he was a slave of cocaine. "I want to understand how he fell and how he was reborn," Contactmusic quoted Risi, as saying. But according to him, Maradona's wife was concerned over the effect the film would have on their daughters, who will come to see their father during his hellish days, when even she could not do anything to prevent him from his drug-fuelled madness. "Claudia is worried about what the girls will think of the complicated period in Naples, when he did all sorts of things and she was incapable of stopping him," he said.

Cruise's designer largesse for Katie (Go To Top)

    London: Hollywood hunk Tom Cruise has splurged 75,000 pounds on dresses from Gucci, Versace, John Galliano, Dolce and Gabbana and Ben De Lisi, for his lady love Katie Holmes. The actor reportedly wanted Katie to feel special and beautiful in the last months of her pregnancy and so he asked her favourite designers to churn up something for her. " He loves her changing shape her baby bump grows and thinks she should accentuate it," a source was quoted by Femalefirst, as saying. Holmes is due to give birth to their first baby next month and Cruise has been over concerned about her ever since she became pregnant, he even bought her a sonogram, even though doctors criticized his move.

Albert Brooks says 'Indian Namaste' panacea (Go To Top)

    Washington: Veteran actor Albert Brooks who also lent his voice in hits like Finding Nemo and Dr. Dolittle, insists that adopting Indian mannerisms could promote a much healthier life in the US. The actor shot most of his eye-opening new movie Looking for Comedy in the Muslim World while travelling through India and Pakistan, and he's convinced common ailments would not exist in his native America if everyone followed the subcontinent's rules. "It is the most polite society that I've ever been to. I don't know if it's dealing with the British influence and the properness, but I think some of their customs should be practiced everywhere. There are no shaking of hands; they put their hands together in a prayer position and bend. I really am totally into that now," he was quoted by Contactmusic,as saying. "I carry this Purel hand sanitiser with me and rub my hands constantly because I've been reading about the bird flu that's taking hold of America. It makes so much sense not to shake hands," he added.

Potter's exam leaves Warner Bros. broke (Go To Top)

   Washington: The makers of the Harry Potter series, Warner Bros are set to lose about 3.6 million dollars to enable Harry and his friends to take their exams in real life. Daniel Radcliffe and Emma Watson who play Harry and Hermione in the series will sit for their Advanced Supplementary (AS) Levels and General Certificate of Secondary Education (GCSE) exams this summer, stalling the progress of the fifth movie "Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix", by a month. "Not everyone is going to be paid but Warner Bros are having to factor in an extra GBP2 million into the budget to pay for studio hire and offices," a source was quoted by Contactmusic,as saying. Radcliffe, is studying English literature, history, religion and philosophy, while co-star Watson, will take the exams for standard subjects including English, Maths and Science.

   Washington: Rock matriarch Ozzy Osbourne's wife, Sharon now rocks the field of writing . Her autobiography 'Extreme' has become a biggest bestseller since records began in 1998, after a record breaking sale of 600,000 copies, toppling the previous record held by soccer star David Beckham's book 'My Side', by over 100,000 copies. According to book editor Antonia Hodgson,its success lay in the fact that it was identified with by women, and was written in a very racy style. "It has the pace of a thriller and has been bought "by women for women"," Contactmusic quoted her, as saying. Dad Voight begs Jolie to let him into her life (Go To Top)

    London: Oscar-winner Jon Voight has reportedly requested daughter Angelina Jolie to open her heart's doors once again for him, and allow him to share the happiness of her pregnancy. The veteran actor wishes to be an active grandfather in the near future, and is, hence, desperate to contact pregnant Jolie, whom he hasn't seen since the last five years. "Now she's announced she is pregnant with Brad Pitt's child, I'd love to be included in this exciting moment," The Mirror quoted the 67-year-old, as saying. The Midnight Cowboy star also added that he was "very happy" for them. Angelina had recently admitted that she was expecting.

Shrek 3 turns Timberlake-Diaz romance incestuous (Go To Top)

    Washington: Despite getting a chance to co-star with girlfriend Cameron Diaz, pop hunk Justin Timberlake doesn't seem excited, as the budding actor is disturbed by the fact that, instead of playing Diaz's love interest he'll have to play her cousin in the third Shrek movie. The "Cry Me A River" singer is set to portray the role of Prince Artie, the future king Arthur, and will voice Diaz's Princess Fiona's cousin in the forthcoming Shrek 3. "I believe our characters in the movie are cousins, so that's disgusting. I mean, I'm from Tennesse, so I heard it does happen where I'm from. But you know, I don't think it's such a good thing universally," Contactmusic quoted him, as saying. "It's a kid's movie. I don't think cousins should be doing that kind of thing," he added.

Nicole Kidman has a ring on her finger (Go To Top)

    New York: Though nothing has been officially stated by her reps, a ring adorning Aussie superstar Nicole Kidman's finger has set tongues wagging, as to whether or not she has finally decided to get engaged to country singer Keith Urban, whom she is reportedly dating for some time now. According to the New York Daily News, the 38-year-old Kidman was spotted sporting a huge diamond on the fourth finger of her left hand at the Waldorf-Astoria Wednesday night, where she had come to present fellow Aussie Rupert Murdoch with the Simon Wiesenthal Center's Humanitarian Laureate award. And the fact that she chose to speak about "dedication to family, and the recognition that our families are the center of everything we strive for and everything we do," only went to show that she had family very much on her mind. Her rep though refused to comment. "I don't know where the ring came from," Kidman's rep, Allen Eichhorn, told the paper. "We don't comment on our clients' personal lives."

Indian actress advised 'boob-job' (Go To Top)

    Washington: Indian actress Sheetal Sheth was appalled, when every agent she met in Hollywood insisted she get breast implants, to establish herself in tinseltown. The stunning actress, who is all set to debut as a secretary in Albert Brok's new comedy "Looking For Comedy In The Muslim World," has admitted that instead of people having any problem with her name, which she had otherwise presumed, they paid more attention to the size of her boobs. "I went to Los Angeles and they told me to get boobs. About five different times they have suggested I get breast implants," Contactmusic quoted the horrified actress, as saying. However, Sheth dismissed these suggestions, and was happy that she has been blessed with "a healthy self-image". "I just laughed because my body is in proportion. I'm not buxom by any means but I'm a small girl so how much bustier can I be? Thank God I have a healthy self-image," she said.
