Sonia shows her 'strength' at AICC Session
by Pankaj Yadav

Rajiv Nagar (Hyderabad): The three-day long 82nd AICC Plenary Session of the Congress party ended here this evening. In the last two days, when everyone participating in the Session took periodic breaks for refreshments and some rest, one person - Congress chief Sonia Gandhi- kept sitting strenuously, taking only lunch breaks for a few minutes.

Right from 9.30 a.m. till 8.00 p.m., the Congress president sat tirelessly with her hands resting on her folded legs, not showing any sign of exhaustion or fatigue. On both the days, she was served water and evening tea on the desk placed before her on the dias. One could witness the Congress chief listening with acute attention the views and opinions expressed by the Congress leaders, and taking occasional notes and reading some text material. Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh took frequent breaks, apparently to accomplish his "official" tasks in the temporary Prime Minister's Office (PMO) set up behind the venue on the occasion. Another example worth citing would be Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YSR Rajasekhara Reddy, who didn't show any expression of tension or worry on his face, despite his mother being in coma at an ICU of the local Apollo Hospital.
