Lawyers mother, daughter killed in Delhi
New
Delhi: A mother and her daughter were found dead in
their posh south Delhi residencel today. Deceased Swarna
Mahajan and her 45-year-old daughter Anuradha Mahajan were
both lawyers of the Delhi High Court and resided in Sidharth
Enclave. According to the preliminary investigations carried
by the police, it is reported to be a murder case where
the assailants were known to the victims. Since the house
was found ransacked, it gave an impression that the murderers
were looking for something. Anil Shukla, Additional District
Commissioner of Police said: "The room has been ransacked,
so it might be that the culprit was searching for something.
Even a cupboard has been turned inside out. So we're not
ruling out anything right now". The housemaid was first
to see the victims dead, with their hands clapped, in the
morning when she came to start her day's work. Finding the
doors closed and with no response coming from inside, housemaid
took the help of the neighbours to open it. According to
her, everything was fine till 10 p.m. on Saturday when she
had left the place. She also told the police that in evening
two people had visited the family and that the car carried
a Uttar Pradesh number. Police are now looking for that
car and a murder case has been registered.
