Bid
to sacrifice girl child for treasure
Gwalior:
A case of human sacrifice of a five-year old girl
child kidnapped by her neighbour in the hope of unearthing
some hidden treasure was reported in Simria on Tuesday.
The small village falls under Mohna Tehsil district
in Gwalior. Bharat Timar, the victim's relative and
the culprit, came to know about some hidden treasure
and to get the treasure, he wanted to please the God
by giving human sacrifice. Kajal, the victim girl
had come to her uncle's home in Simria village. Timar
saw Kajal playing at her uncle's home and he lured
her with biscuits. "To please the God he took her
away and left her in a pit in a graveyard. When we
reported this to the police," said Ramvati Masoom,
the victim's relative. The
villagers said they saw the child with Timar going
towards the graveyard side. The child's relatives
went there and saw that she was lying on the ground,
in a state of unconsciousness. She was taken to a
private hospital in Gwalior. "She is a five-year-old
child. To please the God, he took the child to a graveyard
and tried to sacrifice her, so that he could get some
treasure. This was all because of superstition. When
the child's neighbour filed a report, we began our
investigation," said Jaydeep Prasad, SP, Gwalior.
Bharat Timar, the accused, has been arrested. The
police are interrogating him.
