Taiwan tourist's body found in lake Srinagar:
Jammu and Kashmir police have recovered a body from a lake in Kashmir
today and has identified it as of the Taiwanese tourist who had gone missing
a fortnight ago. The 52-year-old Taiwanese visitor went missing on March
22 after she checked into a houseboat in Kashmir's famous Dal Lake and
left for an Internet cafe. Munir Khan, Senior Superintendent of Police,
Srinagar said: "We found a dead body today morning in Nagin Lake. After
initial investigation we brought the body to the police station. Her daughter
identified the body that she was the one who went missing". The woman's
daughter had arrived in Srinagar last week to assist authorities in the
search for her mother. Police said there was no external injury and initial
reports suggest that she had been killed by the crooks rather than by
any militants. The valley has witnessed a large influx of tourist in recent
years. Last year a record number of 610,320 tourists, including 18,080
foreigners, visited Kashmir, the highest number since peace have returned
to the valley.
