Kalka-Jodhpur Express derails in Patiala Patiala:
The engine and four coaches of the Kalka-Jodhpur Express derailed
this morning at the Dhablan station near Patiala after hitting a stationary
goods train, disrupting rail traffic on the Ambala-Patiala-Bhatinda route.
However, no casualties have been reported. The driver of the passenger
train has received minor injuries. Divisional Railway Manager(Ambala),
Rakesh Tandon said that the train had a side collision with a goods train
standing at Dhablan station and the diesel engine with four coaches of
the passenger train got derailed. Meanwhile, medical van and a team of
doctors rushed to the accident site. "Fortunately nobody was injured in
the accident. We have arranged food and medical facilities for the passengers.
A team of Doctors is also at the site," said Tandon. The accident disrupted
rail traffic on the Ambala-Patiala- Bathinda route. The Ambala railway
division has cancelled three trains after the derailment, which took place
at around 3.25 am. |
