fascinating tourists in Kufri Kufri (Shimla): Anyone who has visited snow-covered Kufri has found the experience an everlasting joy. The unexpected snowfall during this year has made it a must-visit place for all tourists present in and around Shimla. A large number of visitors from different parts of the country have thronged Kufri to have fun and enjoy the snowfall. Situating at a height of 8,600 feet above sea-level, Kufri, a tiny hill station located 19-kilometres from Shimla, has been a favourite tourist destination due to its pristine beauty. Be it newly-wed couples or families who were visiting their favourite tourist place Shimla, are arriving here to be a part of snow. Last Wednesday (on March 15) Kufri received a beauty of snowfall, which caught everyone here by surprise as it is unexpected at this time of season. During snowfall, the hill station appears wrapped around with snow and looks like any white mountain.
Tourists are having a great time throwing snowballs on each other. "We
are so lucky that the day we have come here, snow is there. It is really
so much fun and we are feeling good," said Vijay Kumar, a tourist. For
Tourists, snowfall has been a bonus. "We enjoyed a lot. We did not expect
snowfall during this month. We are lucky and enjoying a lot," said Chandar,
another tourist. The untimely snowfall is proving a boon for the apple
orchard owners and farmers here. The rapidly increasing inflow of tourists
has brought cheers on local shopkeepers. Himachal Pradesh is receiving
widespread rains in the lower region and higher reaches of the State have
received snow. All other places like the higher places of Shimla, Kullu,
Chamba, Kangra and tribal district Kinaur and Lahaul and Spiti district
are clad with the shimmering white cover of snow.
