Avalanche kills Australian in Gulmarg
Srinagar:
An Australian, Gregory Anton, 31, was killed in an avalanche falling
from the slopes of Apherwat in Gulmarg today. Coming from Melbourne, Anton
had come to Gulmarg for skiing along with friends. In the morning he left
for Apharwat with a group of skiers and was the first to take the slope
when a snow avalanche swept him down for two kilometres, burying him under
the snow for about 45 minutes before a rescue team dug him up.
