India, Pakistan to start multiple visa facilities Islamabad: India and Pakistan are expected to soon introduce multiple visa facilities for each other's nationals. This facility would be extended for the members of the divided families living in the two countries. The visas would be valid for a period of two years, and the holder would be entitled to visit Pakistan/India any number of times.
An agreement in this regard would be signed during Pakistan Foreign Minister
Khurshid Mahmood Kasuri's visit to New Delhi in the third week of February.
The two countries will hold their joint commission's meeting on the occasion.
The meeting would also review the progress made by the six sub- commissions
out of the eight constituted by the joint commission at its inaugural
meeting held in Islamabad. Apart from an agreement on the reduction of
accidental use of nuclear arsenals and new visa regimes of the two countries,
understanding would also be worked out for holding quarterly flag meetings
of the sector commanders of the troops on both sides of the border, reported
The News. During his forthcoming visit, Kasuri would also discuss new
avenues of co-operation between Pakistan and India with his Indian counterpart
Pranab Mukherjee. It is believed that the joint commission will bring
in some new confidence building measures (CBMs) that will greatly help
the two countries address their decades-old disputes though dialogue,
        the sources said.
