                         Politicians' kin in Goa rape cases

                          The names of more and more political leaders are 
                          being dragged into increasing cases of assaults involving 
                          foreign female nationals visiting Goa as tourists. 
                             Aires Rodrigues, 
                          the counsel for the 14-year-old German girl who was 
                          allegedly assaulted by Rohit, son of Education Minister 
                          Atanasio Monserrate, early this month, told newsmen 
                          here Thursday that 22-year old Warren Alemao, nephew 
                          of public works minister Churchill Alemao, had also 
                          sexually assaulted the minor girl. He claimed he had 
                          informed the police also that photographs could be produced 
                          as proof of Warren's involvenment. 
                             The disclosure 
                          has come at a time when the police headed by home minister 
                          Ravi Naik is already on the job of investigating an 
                          allegation that Churchill Alemao had also given shelter 
                          to Rohit, although Alemao has claimed that he had not 
                          seen Rohit for several months. 
                             The victim's 
                          counsel Rodrigues said emails sent by Rohit to the German 
                          girl is in the custody of the police. 
                             Recently, 
                          the British media had named Roy Naik, the son of the 
                          home minister, in connection with the murders of Scarlette 
                          Keeling and Stephen Bennett.
