Foreign
tourists seek solace in villages of Himachal by
Hemant Chauhan Vashist
(Himachal Pradesh): The foreign tourists made a beeline at villages of Himachal
Pradesh to lull themselves into silence of natural greeneries. Kasol, Barshani,
Old Manali, and Vashisht are among the villages in Kullu valley becoming home
to the overseas tourists. "It is smaller than Manali but it is big enough to have
some nice shops. Hot springs are also very good. I really like it," said Mathew,
a tourist from England . Tourists from various countries such as Germany , Italy
, England and Israel like exploring the culture and tradition of the hill town.
Ilan, a tourist from Israel , who visited India for first time, enjoys her stay
in the valley. "This is my first time in India . I like this place. Especially
people are very interesting," said Ilan, a tourist from Israel . One such famous
tourist spot is Vashist, which is six kilometres from Manali, located above Beas
River . It is famous for hot water springs and ancients temples. "Foreign tourists
come and live here in large numbers. They find it nice here as it is away from
the city. They come and relax here in villages. There are also hot water springs
and temples. There is proper bathing facility for tourists to bathe in hot water,"
said Pritam, a resident. Tourism is the mainstay of the region's economy. Known
as " Valley of Gods ", Kullu attracts thousands of tourists every year. -August
