by Sunil Sharma

Chandigarh: Punjab administration upgraded the doll museum to promote international tourism in Chandigarh. Established in 1985, the international doll museum has got a toy train and beautiful dolls representing 35 countries. Recently upgraded and renovated, the museum was opened for public only a month ago. Local administration hopes that the new improved doll museum will attract both domestic and international tourists. "Chandigarh administration is also promoting the international tourism. Keeping this in mind we have used all information, which can be for the benefit of the tourists for India and abroad," said V N Singh, Consultant, Museums, Chandigarh Administration. Earlier the museum did not present an attractive look but now it boasts of great interiors and pleasant ambience. Among the visitors visiting the museum, kids are the most excited ones as they are thrilled to see dolls from various countries and that too all under one roof. "I really like it here. There are so many different dolls from all over the world. I have not seen such dolls ever," said Shreen, a visitor. Some of the countries from which dolls have been showcased in the museum are Denmark, Germany, Netherlands, Spain, Russia and Korea.
