Tourists throng Mussoorie to escape heat in plains
by Prem Thakur

Mussoorie: Large number of tourists are thronging Mussoorie to escape the scorching heat in the plains. Even though drizzle in certain parts of the country has brought down the temperature a bit but the number of tourists is to the hill station is increasing. "This is our second visit to Mussoorie. Presently in Jabalpur, the climate is hot and humid. The temperature has risen up to 44 degrees. But here in Mussoorie, the climate is completely opposite. The weather is very cool and comfortable," said Donald Pint, a tourist. With the onset of summer, tourists start coming here. As a result, hotel business in the area is also booming. "In Mussoorie, summers are known as the peak season. The main purpose of the arrival of tourists is to escape from the heat in plains. At present, hot winds are blowing in the plains with a temperature of 42-44 degrees almost everywhere, but here in Mussoorie one can even wear sweaters. Mussoorie is undoubtedly the major summer attraction," said Sunny, a hotelier. Nestling in the Garhwal Hills, Mussoorie is an idyllic hill station with stimulating views of the valleys below, snow-capped mountains, a skating ring and a mall set amongst the foggy mists and clouds. With modern bungalows shopping malls and landscaped gardens, Mussoorie is an excellent hill station for tourists to escape scorching summers of the plains.
