Railways to hit roads with mobile ticketing van

New Delhi: In a passenger friendly move, the Indian Railways is launching mobile ticketing vans to make booking of tickets easier. The first mobile ticketing van would be launched in Mumbai as a pilot project. The van equipped with up linking facility will issue tickets for both reserved and unreserved categories. According to sources this year's Railway Budget is expected to be more passenger friendly, and Railway Minister Mamata Banerjee is likely to announce the addition of 500 more reservation counters to the existing 1,800 counters across the country. To make the booking system more transparent the department is planning to display the status of all major trains at all the ticketing centres. The Railways is also planning to bring all stations across the country under one network.
