MUMBAI: The Mumbai police have summoned the controversial godwoman Radhe Maa whose obscene photos have been flaming the electronic media for the past few days, to be questioned in connection with a case of abetment in a dowry case in which one of her legions of devotees is an accused.
However, the Borivali police said they have not issued any summons against the
godwoman. They said they will only call Radhe Maa for recording her statement in the case and that too only after questioning
the complainant 32-year old Nikki Gupta's husband Nakul Gupta and the in-laws on Monday.
The summons was issued on Saturday against a total of six persons following an FIR filed against Radhe Maa and others earlier last week. The accused include the in-laws of the 32-year-old complainant woman and her husband. She has accused all of them of "mental and physical harassment for dowry". The complaint alleges that Radhe Maa instigated her in-laws to demand dowry from her. The husband and his relatives have
been Radhe Maa's followers for years.
According to reports, Radhe Maa was in Aurangabad on Friday and stayed at a hotel. The Aurangabad police who came to know of her whereabouts are reported to have
interrogated her.
The Mumbai-based 50-year-old godwoman continues to be a media rage with obscene photos allegedly of hers flooding the electronic media.
