A low profile leader of the BJP in Punjab and Union Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment, Vijay Sampla (55) is an MP from Hoshiarpur and has to his credit working as a plumber.

Vijay Sampla's disclosure follows filmmaker Subhash Ghai's support to the godwoman. The Minister has claimed that the allegations against Radhe Maa are baseless.

“Yes, I respect Radhe Maa and her style of preaching. Is it a sin? She is not controversial at all and all stories about her have been cooked by the media. There is no authenticity in the allegations against her,” according to a report in the Hindustan Times.

He had organised a religious gathering at his official residence in New Delhi on July 17, reportedly in honour of Radhe Maa. The invitees included several VIPs from Delhi and Punjab.

“Yes, I organised a function at my official residence and I respect her since she has special divine powers. Moreover, she belongs to my constituency and is a voter of my area. How can I ignore her presence in Delhi?” said Sampla, according to the report.

Celebrities like Subhash Ghai and Rakhi Sawat are said to be supporters of Radhe Maa. Filmmaker Subhash Ghai wrote on Facebook: “Being the devotees of Mata Vaishnu Devi, me n my wife Mukta have been visiting Radhe Maa to take her blessings since last year at mata ki chowki at Borivali Bhuvan held by her old devotees. Even we held one mata ki chowki at our residence and invited her to bless us and other devotees. She had been very affectionate to both of us and treats us like her parents.”

Radhe Maa hit the headlines recently and was a rage on the electronic media for her alleged obscene photos. A 32-year old woman from Kandivali in Mumbai, Nikki Gupta, had filed an FIR against her husband Nukul Gupta and her in-laws of Borivali in Mumbai, for dowry harassment, and implicated Radhe Maa for instigating Gupta, who had been a Radhe Maa devotee for years. She has also been proceeded against by a lawyer on charges of obscenity.

Nikki had also alleged that she had seen the godwoman dance to Bollywood songs like ‘Baby Doll’ featuring Sunny Leone. A report said Radhe Maa is a fan of Sunny Leone.
