100 Sikhs leave for Pakistan Amritsar:
With the improvement of India Pakistan relations, for the first
time a sikh group comprising of hundred pilgrims including Kar Sewa
Wale Baba's (Guru's) today left for Pakistan to pay tribute on the death
anniversary of Guru Nanak. There has been a demand from Pakistan and
sikhs living abroad that the karseva of Gurudwara's of Pakistan should
be handed over to karsewa vale Baba's, as they are well verse with dignity
and sikh architecture. Baba Amrik Singh requested the government to
ease the visa process to Pakistan. He also expressed his hope that the
relations between India and Pakistan will imrprove in the future. "Now,
again there is a good relationship between India and Pakistan. Therefore,I
request the government to ease the visa process. Visa process in India
is very rigid and strict. A common Sikh cannot visit Pakistan easily.
This is the first time we are going for paying obesicance. We will have
a look there. We have heard that the conditions of the lake are very
bad there. If they will ask for help and support to improve the conditions
of shrine, we are ready to provide our support to them, " said Baba
Amrik Singh. Singh said that as this is their first visit to Pakistan
they will concentrate on visiting and paying obeisance to various shrines.
He also requested that Sikhs in the country should be allowed to celebrate
all sikh relegious festivals in Pakisatani shrines, as they are an inseperable
part of the Sikh relegion. |
