Andhra Pradesh's Nellore last week, drawing large crowds who looted the 'maal'
lying scattered on the roads. Videos on social media show people cornering the
bottles in large numbers from the spot with gay abandon.
The gala event of the roads being littered with cold drink bottles was caught
in videos circulating on social media. Rural crowds are seen jostling to get
closer to the site of excitement.
Netizens reacted in very many ways. While some said it was a little festival
in its own right to be enjoyed, some stereotyped characters accused the merrymakers
of being greedy and looting.
