Charminar:The centre of attraction in Hyderabad, this 53-mt tall structure, with four minarets, was built in memory of the eradication of a plague that struck the city in 1591. Standing close-by is Mecca Masjid, one of the biggest mosques. Its structures are made of single slabs of granite, and bricks brought from Mecca. Its construction was started in 1614 by Abdullah Qutub Shah and completed in 1687 by Aurangzeb. Next to it is seen the oldest mosque in the town, Jami Masjid.
