RT-PCR report must to enter Delhi by air, rail, bus from Feb 26 |

Those coming to Delhi from the States hit by a second wave of
covid by air, train or bus will need to carry a negative RT-PCR test
report not older than 72 hours. Those coming by own vehicles will
not be checked, however. |
NEW DELHI, Feb 26: Threatened by a second wave of covid, precautionary measures
like restrictions on inter-State movement, gatherings and local lockdowns have
been imposed by several States to check the current surge in the spread of coronavirus
epidemic.
Travellers from Maharashtra, Kerala, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh and Punjab,
which have reported a second wave of coronavirus and spurt in new cases after
a steep fall since mid-September, will need a negative coronavirus test report
to enter the national Capital from February 26 to March 15. The RT-PCR negative
test report will have to be carried while entering Delhi by road, train or air.
However, those coming in by road in buses only will be checked and not those
travelling in own vehicles.
KARNATAKA: Karnataka had a week ago increased surveillance on those from Maharashtra
and Kerala. It has imposed restrictons on travellers from the two States which
are having a second wave of the pandemic. Negative RT-PCR test report of not
more than 72 hours is compulsory to enter Karnataka by road, trair or air. Those
without the test report will be sent to quarantine.
MAHARASHTRA: Maharashtra has imposed several restrictions on movement and gatherings
throughout the State. Partial lockdowns are being imposed area-wise. All political,
religious and social gatherings are suspended. District authorities are taking
local restrictions. In Mumbai, residential buildings with more than five active
covid cases are being sealed. Hefty fines are being slapped on those not wearing
face masks in the city. Violators of restrictions also face prosecution.
A 7-day lockdown in Amravati was started on February 22 and a 10 -day lockdown
is on in Yavatmal from February 18.
Parbhani district of Aurangabad has closed places of worship and banned entry
from 11 Vidarbha districts like Nagpur, Chandrapur, Gadchiroli, Yavatmal, Amravati,
Akola, Washim, Bhandara, Gondia and Wardha. Jalna of Aurangabad district has
closed educational institutions till March 31. The Shri Rajur Ganpati temple
in Bhokardan tehsil is closed. Nagpur schools and colleges will remain shut
till March 7. Markets are closed on Saturdays and Sundays. No wedding receptions
from February 25 to March 7.
GUJARAT: Gujarat will have border checks on those from the neighbouring affected
States like Maharashtra and screening will be done at railway stations too.
BENGAL: The Bengal Government made it mandatory on Wednesday for passengers
travelling by flights from Maharashtra, Kerala, Karnataka and Telangana to produce
negative covid reports.
UTTARAKHAND: The Uttarakhand Government on Tuesday issued an order making the
test mandatory for people coming from Maharashtra, Gujarat, Kerala, Madhya Pradesh
and Chhattisgarh.
CHHATTISGARH: Chattisgarh will screen people travelling from Maharashtra, Madhya
Pradesh and Delhi.
PUNJAB: In Punjab, from March 1, there will be curbs on indoor and outdoor
gathering.
MP: Madhya Pradesh has asked district collectors to ensure thermal screening
of people coming from Maharashtra.
RAJASTHAN: The Jodhpur city administration has imposed Section 144 in the city
till March 21.
