Coronavirus Updates: Govt issues travel advisory

The Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare has issued a fresh travel advisory asking Indians to avoid travel to coronavirus-hit countries like Iran, Italy, South Korea also.

NEW DELHI, Feb 26: A new Govt advisory today asked Indians not to travel to Iran, Italy, South Korea in view of the spreading coronavirus. An earlier advisory had listed China, Hong Kong and Singapore. On Feb 3, the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare had issued a fresh travel advisory urging people to refrain from visiting China. "Travel Advisory further revised informing the public to refrain from travel to China and that anyone with travel history in China since January 15, 2020 and from now on could be quarantined," said the statement released by the ministry here.

3,97,152 passengers screened

At airports 3,97,152 passengers and at sea ports 9,695 passengers have been screened so far for for signs of the SARS-Cov-2 (coronavirus) and 24,000 people who visited China have been kept under observation.
