'BoisLockerRoom' leader arrested

NEW DELHI, May 8: The leader of a gang of students running a lewd internet chat room in Delh has been arrested. The Class 12 student, of 18 plus years, was admin of 'BoisLockerRoom' chat room.

The students belong to reputed schools in Delhi-NCR. There were over two dozen students on the 'BoisLockerRoom' club.

'BoisLockerRoom' was an Instagram group sharing obscene messages and morphed photos. The leader is a student of a Noida school. Fifteen others of prominent Delhi schools have been questioned. There were 27 members identified. Some were underage.

Vulgar screenshots of chats have gone viral on Twitter and other social media forums. Some students claimed they had been added by others.

In a statement, Facebook-owned Instagram said it gave top priority to ensuring its users can express themselves in a "safe and respectful way".

The company said the objectionable content that violated its community standards was removed as soon as it was made aware of it.
