DALLAS (TEXAS), Sept 25: Attacks on Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) facilities across the US over Trump administration's drive against illegal immigrants are stoking fears of escalating political violemce.

The latest incident was a deadly shooting at an ICE centre in Dallas on Wednesday morning when three people were shot at. One died on the spot and two are in critical condition. The gunman also died of self-inflicetd wounds.

Trump on his Truth Social platform accused "Radical Left Democrats" of inciting anti-ICE violence by "constantly demonizing Law Enforcement, calling for ICE to be demolished, and comparing ICE Officers to Nazis." He said, the "radical left terrorists" pose a "grave threat" to law enforcement and "must be stopped."

The shooter has been identified as 29-year-old Joshua Jahn, who positioned himself on a rooftop adjacent to the ICE field office and opened fire on a transport van carrying detainees. According to the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Jahn fired “indiscriminately” at the building and the van before taking his own life.

All the three victims were detainees. No ICE agents or law enforcement officers were harmed. One of the injured is a Mexican national. Mexico’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a statement expressing concern.

The FBI has launched an investigation. Bullet casings recovered from the scene bore the inscription “ANTI-ICE.”

However, the motive or what the shooter was targeting was not immediately clear.

Vice President JD Vance called the shooting “an obsessive attack on law enforcement,” urging Americans to “stop demonizing ICE.” Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem stated, “Our ICE law enforcement is facing unprecedented violence. It must stop”. Texas Governor Greg Abbott said the attack would not deter ongoing immigration enforcement efforts.

The incident has reignited a debate over political violence in the US. There is rising tensions over immigration policy and law enforcement.

While some officials blamed left-wing extremism, studies have shown that far-right violence is more prevalent.

The targeting of ICE reflects deeper divisions on how immigration enforcement is perceived and politicized.

Other incidents

There were similar incidents in the past. On July 4, Independence Day, a coordinated group of about a dozen individuals dressed in black military-style clothing launched an attack on the Prairieland ICE detention centre. They fired fireworks and bullets, vandalized property with slogans like “ICE Pig,” and shot a police officer in the neck. Ten suspects were later charged with terrorism and aggravated assault.

Just weeks before the latest shooting, a man arrived at the same Dallas ICE facility claiming to have a bomb in his backpack. He showed a wrist device he said was a detonator, prompting a shelter-in-place order and bomb squad deployment. The suspect was arrested.

The CCTV footage and the video circulating on social media do not indicate any serious abnormalities in takeoff or descent, it has been confirmed. The disaster is becoming curiouser and curiouser. The flight path was not curvy. And the aircraft maintained a steady, gliding descent with its nose straight and the wings perfectly level. Many of the victims were charred beyond recognition, making identification difficult. Three hundred nineteen body parts have been sent for DNA matching with relatives to determine the identities.

Determined to save his country from the cliff, he has done quite a few draconian things that will reduce the burden of debts of the Federal entity, like the golden handshake, stopping senseless funding, pulling out of a worthless WHO. Shutting the Education Department is another. On the other hand, running it is also not the Centre's job either (We will convincingly elaborate it in the next chapter).

In India the scene is just the opposite. Centralisation is the core agenda and identity of the ruling dispensation without which it has no existence, or in other words, it exists for that set of schemes only. A realisation of this never dawned upon any Opposition party in 2014 or any time thereafter, what to talk of being able to see it coming 70 years ago! ANALYSIS: "The standard operating procedure for deportations by aircraft used by ICE that is effective from 2012 provides for the use of restraints," says the Government. That means, it is taken for granted the US will set the standard for deportations. For another, the Government is more interested in comparing with what happened in 2012 under a different Government to justify its own compliance! No surprise, others are trampling upon us.
