CHENNAI, June 2: The Tamil Nadu Government has asked the beauty parlours, salons and spas to maintain the details of customers like Aadhaar number, phone number, address etc to facilitate contact tracing in case any customer contracts coronavirus infection.
Parlours and salons are some of the most likely places where transmission can take place. Such places are most vulnerable because of the nature of service and workplace condition:
While salons and beauty parlours were allowed to operate at other places in the State from May 24, in Chennai it was allowed from from Monday only when the Centre began lifting the lockdown.
The State Government has issued a standard operating procedure for the owners and workers of these establishments by which the workplaces have to provide hand washing/sanitising facilities. The workers should wear gloves and masks and wash their hands before attending to customers. Blades should not be reused and towels should be washed for reuse.
