Coronavirus Updates: 29 infected in India, contact-tracing intensified

A PayTM employee in Gurugram has tested positive for SARS-CoV-2. He had visited Italy.

NEW DELHI, Mar 4: Even as contact-tracing continues on a war-footing, and a large number of coronavirus-suspected cases are being kept in isolation, the number of infected cases in the country has gone up to 29 with the test of a PayTM employee in Gurugram confirming SARS-CoV-2. He had visited Italy, worst-hit after China.

The 23 cases in Delhi-NCR include the Delhi man, his 6 Agra relatives, the PayTM employee, 15 of an Italian group of tourists including their Indian driver. The Two in Jaipur include a couple of of the Italian group. The remaining one is the Hyderabad man who visited Dubai. Three cases were of Kerala who got cured last month.

PM, President not to attand 'Holy Milan'

NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Naraendra Modi and President Ram Nath Kovind have announced that they will not participate in any Holi celebrations of March 10 as gatherings could lead to transmission of coronavirus.

"Experts across the world have advised to reduce mass gatherings to avoid spread of covid-19 novel coronavirus. Hence, this year I have decided not to participate in any Holi milan programme," Modi tweeted.

Coronavirus Updates: Three more dead in Washington State

WASHINGTON, DC: With three more deaths reported today, the death toll from coronavirus has gone up to 9 in Washington State. The cases also rose from 18 to 27.
