Coronavirus Updates: Chinese cargo ship kept off Vizag

As ships coming from high-risk countries are not allowed at ports in view of the coronavirus outbreak, a Chinese cargo ship has been told to stay off till tests are done

HYDERABAD, Mar 6: A Chinese bulk carrier, Fortune Hero, with a crew of 22, was refused permission to berth at the Visakhapatnam port yesterday. In view of the coronavirus outbreak, ships coming from high-risk countries are allowed at ports only after tests on passengers and crew for the SARS-CoV-2 virus. The ship was kept away in the Bay of Bengal.

Infected American tourist took Brahmaputra tour

GUWAHATI: An American tourist, alongwith four other foreign travellers, had a seven-day cruise in Brahmaputra before he was diagnosed with covid-19 in Bhutan, which he visited on the last leg of his tour before falling sick. Reaching India on February 21, he travelled to Mumbai and Kolkata before reaching Assam and taking the cruise, MV Mahabaahu, according to reports.
