NEW DELHI, Aug 2: Union Home Minister Amit Shah was on Sunday hospitalised after being tested positive for coronavirus. Shah (55) had shown symptoms of a mild attack.
He was admitted to Medanta Hospital in Gurugram on Sunday afternoon. He has advised those whoever came in contact with him to get themselves tested for coronavirus.
“On getting the initial symptoms of coronavirus, I got the test done and the report came back positive. My health is fine, but I am being admitted to the hospital on the advice of doctors. I request those who came in contact with me in last few days to get tested for coronavirus and isolate themselves,” Amit Shah tweeted.
Later, Minister of State for Environment Babul Supriyo tweeted: “I had met Amit Shah ji day before in the evening. I am advised by Doctors to confine myself, away from my family members, for the next few days with a test to be done soon. Shall abide with all precautionary measures as per rules and protocol.”
“Heard about the Union Home Minister Shri Amit Shah being tested positive for COVID-19. Wishing him a speedy recovery. My prayers are with him and his family,” West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee tweeted.
Leaders such as BJP president J P Nadda, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, DMK chief MK Stalin, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee wished him speedy recovery.
