Indian arrested in $21 million H-1B visa racket
48-year-old Ashish Sawhney allegedly used four corporations for submission of fraudulent applications to obtain H-1B speciality- occupation work visas for foreigners.

WASHINGTON, Aug 22: An Indian has been arrested here for committing fraud to obtain H-1B visas to import foreigners on jobs that never existed.

Ashish Sawhney, 48, allegedly used four corporations to make improper submission of fraudulent applications for visas. He allegedly made a revenue of $21 million from his operations during m 2011-2016. He is accused of conspiracy and trying to illegally import people to the US. He faces a maximum penalty of 10 years in jail. He was arrested on Thursday. He is reportedly a resident of Sterling, a Virginia suburb of Washington DC.
