Maoists kill four villagers in Bijapur
The Maoists had abducted 20 villagers, 'sentenced to death' and 'executed' four of them in Bijapur district's forests, accusing them of being police informers.

RAIPUR, Sept 6: Maoists killed four villagers out of 20 people they had abducted from two villages of Bijapur district of Chhattisgarh on Friday. This is the fourth incident of Maoist killings in a fortnight in the insurgency-hit Bijapur district of Bastar division.

A Maoist 'jan adaalat' was held on Friday evening where the four villagers were stamped as police informers and were 'sentenced' to death. The rest of the abducted people were released later. The four were killed in the Dumri Palnar forests. They have been identified as Punem Sannu, Dhurva Sannu, Bhusku and Falli, Inspector-General of Police, Bastar range, P Sundarraj, told reporters.
