NEW DELHI, Sept 15: Delhi's Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia tested positive for coronavirus on Monday and he is confined to self-quarantine to prevent transmission of the illness. He tweeted that after he developed fever he conducted the test and the infection was confirmed.

"After mild fever was detected, I took a coronavirus test and turned out to be positive. I have isolated myself. I don't have a fever or any other problem as of now, I am absolutely fine. With your prayers, I am sure I will return to work after regaining my health," Sisodia, 48, tweeted in Hindi.

Sisodia did not attend the one-day Delhi Assembly session because of the fever. "Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia will not attend today's session as he has fever since last night," Speaker Ram Niwas Goel had announced in the House.

He has been actively involved in the fight against coronavirus in the last few months, inspecting covid facilities and overseeing the management of prevention of the epidemic in the national Capital.
