World champion PV Sindhu leaves Olympic camp midway, lands in London, scotches rumours
"I came to London a few days back to work on my nutrition and recovery needs with GSSI. In fact I have come here with the consent of my parents and absolutely there were no family rifts in this regard. Why will I have problems/issues with my parents who have sacrificed their lives for my sake. Mine is a very close knitted family and they will always support me. I am in touch with my family members everyday," PV Sindhu tweeted.

HYDERABAD, Oct 20: World champion PV Sindhu has left the national camp for Olympics midway and reached London for what she posted on social media, "to work on my recovery and nutrition." In a series of messages on Twitter on Tuesday she denied the rumours floated by sections of media that she left the country "after tensions in her family".

She had told the Pullela Gopichand Academy before leaving that she will be away for two months. This is said to be first time she has gone abroad without either of her parents. The 25-year-old will have training with the English team. She reached London ten days ago.

Indian badminton national team's chief coach Pullela Gopichand has refuted any speculation of "rift" between him or his academy with the World Champion and Olympic Silver medalist, according to a news channel report. He said he was aware of her decision to go to the UK and he never objected to it.

I am in touch with my family members everyday.

"Also I do not have any issues with my coach Mr Gopichand or the training facilities at the academy Mr M. Ratnakar the sports reporter of TOI who is spreading false news should know the facts first before writing them. If he doesn’t stop, I may have to resort to legal proceedings against him," Sindhu tweeted.

"Happy to be in England and working with GSSI over the next few weeks on my nutrition and recovery with @rrandell86 ! 3 months to Asia tour and this is best chance to work on things and improve !!," she said.

It's not the first time that Sindhu was working under a team of experts, including Rebecca Randell of the Gatorade Sports Science Institute (GSSI) in the UK. Sindhu has been working with GSSI for the past 3 years, it is said. She has posted a photo with Rebecca Randell on Twitter, saying she was happy to be in London.

The Indian star had given the recently-concluded Denmark Open Super 750 tournament a miss and is expected to be seen in action only at the Asian leg of the adjusted BWF World Tour 2020 in January, NDTV website said.
