NEW DELHI, Oct 29: Union Minister Smriti Irani has tested positive for coronavirus. "I've tested positive for #COVID and would request those who came in contact with me to get themselves tested at the earliest," she wrote on Twitter on Wednesday.
Irani, 44, had been campaigning for the Bihar elections in support of the National Democratic Alliance Government in the State.
Several of her colleagues in the Cabinet like Home Minister Amit Shah, Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari and Petroleum Minister Dharmendra Pradhan had tested positive for the coronavirus in the recent past and have since recovered
Athawale had attended an event in Mumbai to induct actor Payal Ghosh into the Republican Party of India (A) on Monday last. Athawale is a diabetic.
