MUMBAI, Dec 20: Reliance is building the largest zoo in the world in Jamnagar
in Gujarat, near to its oil refining complex. The required clearances have been
obtained from both the Central and State Governments. The project will be spread
over 280 acres of land.
It has been reported that the coronavirus pandemic is delaying the project,
which, however, will be completed in two years. It is being named as 'Greens
Zoological, Rescue and Rehabilitation Kingdom'.
Reliance Industries Limited (RIL) Director (Corporate Affairs) Parmil Nathwani
said, "We have started work on this project. This zoo will be the world's largest
zoo." The topic also came up at the virtual conference held to mark ASSOCHAM
foundation week on Friday.
Parmil Nathwani told reporters, "We have started work on this project. This
zoo will be the world's largest zoo. The zoo is going to be even larger than
the zoo located in Singapore. It will be made in about 300 acres of land."
The detailed project report (DPR) submitted by Reliance was approved by the
33rd meeting of the Central Zoo Authority on February 12, 2019, according to
the Central Zoo Authority.
Orangutan, African Lion, Gorilla, Zebra, Giraffe, African elephant and Komodo
Dragon will be some of the priced inmates of Mukesh Ambani's younger son's dream
zoo. Some have already taken up their position by their proposed residences!
