Actor Rajinikanth admitted to hospital in Hyderabad
|

Actor Rajinikanth's health condition has cast shadows over his
pet plan to launch his political party and plunge into active
politics in detail. Apart from his present condition, his immune
system had also been not good for long following a renal
transplant done in the past. The doctors at the Apollo hospital
said on Saturday his blood pressure is still on the higher side,
and more tests will be conducted. |
HYDERABAD, Dec 26: Veteran Tamil actor Rajinikanth, 70, was admitted to a hospital
here on Friday with complaints of fluctuating blood pressure. He was in the
city in connection with the shooting of his film 'Annaatthe' when he developed
symptoms of fatigue and was taken to Apollo hospital. His condition was stated
to be stable on Saturday. However, investigations are still going on, doctors
said.
Earlier in the week, four of his crew had contracted coronavirus and the shooting
for 'Annaatthe' also was suspended. Rajinikanth had tested negative for covid
at that time. Since his crew had tested positive, he too had gone in isolation.
The hospital has stated that apart from the severe blood pressure fluctuation
and exhaustion, Rajinikanth had no other symptoms. He was hemodynamically stable,
the doctors said.
In a press release issued on Saturday, the Apollo Hospital said he is “progressing
well” but his blood pressure is on the higher side. The statement said more
tests will be conducted. “His investigations have not revealed anything alarming
so far. He is scheduled for a further set of investigations today, reports of
which will be available by the evening. Visitors are not being allowed to meet him,” it said. Rajinikanth is launching his poilitical party by month-end. However, doctors had earlier warned him against strainful activities as his immune system had
become weak following a renal transplant some time ago.
