BENGALURU, Jan 1: The schools in Karnataka reopened to good attendance on Friday. Classes were held for X and XII. They had been closed since March due to coronavirus epidemic. The students were checked for temperature at the gates and they had to sanitise their hands before entering the campuses. They also had to wear face masks all the time.
While all Government schools reopened, some of the private schools preferred to continue with online classes for some more time. The pre-university colleges were also opened.
Following the Central Government's SOPs, the students had been told to bring consent letters from parents stating their willingness in sending their wards to the school.
The Government schools did not have online classes and the students have lost the classes. The Government had started a community learning scheme called Vidyagama scheme but that too failed with the surge in covid cases.
