CHENNAI, Jan 20: Veteran actor Kamal Haasan, who underwent a surgery on his leg on Sunday last in a city hospital, is recovering and will be discharged in 3-4 days, his daughter actress Shruti Haasan said on the social media.

The surgery was a follow-up of an injury he suffered a few years ago.

''We would like to begin by thanking you for your overwhelming support, prayers and genuine concern regarding our father's recent medical procedure. We are happy to inform all of you that the surgery was a success! The surgery was performed on his leg this morning at Sri Ramachandra Hospital performed by orthopedic suregon Dr Mohan Kumar along with Dr JSN Murthy. The doctors, attendees and the hospital management are taking wonderful care of our father and he is doing well, is in good spirits and working towards a speedy recovery..."He will return home in four to five days," Shruti tweeted.

The Dashavatharam actor was campaigning for the upcoming Assembly elections. He has completed a serie of Bigg Boss Tamil.
