RANCHI, Jan 27: Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren has said that 75% of the jobs in the private sector will be reserved for local candidates from the State. The Government is preparing a new domicile policy, he said. Rule will also be made on appointments in minority schools.
Soren said the Government will recruit more school teachers and police personnel this year.“2021 will be the year of appointments,” he said while unfurling the national flag at Dumka Police Lines on the Republic Day on January 26.
As part of social security measures, he said, the Government will soon launch a universal pension scheme to provide Rs 1,000 a month to all elderly people of the State. He said a 500-bed hospital is being added to the medical college in Dumka.
The Government will distribute a dhoti or a lungi each to 57 lakh poor people at a subsidised rate of Rs 10 per piece under its ‘dhoti-sari’ scheme. Besides, the Government is waiving off loans up to Rs 50,000 under the loan waiver scheme.
Jharkhand will be the second such State to reserve 75 per cent jobs for the State's people. Last year, the Haryana Government passed a law to reserve jobs in the private sector for locals.
